I explored LA Times website, which published some various articles about what to do this weekend in LA, addresses of food, or practical guides about neighborhoods of the city.
There is part on the website about hiking in California, for the adventurers.
And finally, there is section called “101 experiences in California”. They talk about different experiences that you can make in the Golden State. There is something for everyone!

I chose an article in the “Guide of hiking in LA” section of the website.
I chose it because in my mind, Los Angeles was just a big city, very superficial, with only luxury and casino. So, I was interested to break down this stereotype. And what better way to do that than to take an interest in the least superficial of travel activities: hiking.
As I don’t know at all the California, and Los Angeles, I was interested by an article titled “What’s makes L.A. hiking magical”.( https://www.latimes.com/travel/story/2021-03-11/why-times-readers-love-la-hiking)
Moreover, the article illustration attracted me because of its graphics and design.
This article collected 8 stories of people who hike in LA surrounding. They give some advice: how they have begun to hike, what’s their favorite hiking place, what’s are their feeling while they are hiking...
I enjoyed that some of the stories were illustrated with pictures of people that talked.
It allowed be me to put a face on the story.
Even when I didn't have the picture of the person who talked, I really enjoyed reading this article and the different points of view it contains. It was also interesting to read about commitment of some people that created hiking club for their community that live in LA. (Black & Brown or Korean)
