A good start (railway stations can be very interesting sources of inspiration) but this feels like you could go further. What about the smells ? What other sounds do you hear?
In a few places, it's not clear what you are describing : "on the highest stair of the station" -- not sure what you mean? Is this the highest part of the station, on an upper floor ? Or are you really on a bench on a flight of stairs ? "running of time" --> running out of time ? or running late ? "a perch" can be a pole or a fish.... : )
